Arielle Falk nasceu em Washington DC (EUA) em 1983, é uma artista residente em Brooklyn, NY. Trabalha em vídeo, performance e escultura.

Assumindo uma busca pelo “Eu Autêntico”, Arielle Falk explora a subjetividade humana relativa a uma percepção própria e dos outros. O trabalho de Falk é uma reação à nossa postura numa era capitalista centrada no Facebook , no qual somos encorajados a participar numa troca mercantil de nós próprios, onde as identidades são cuidadosamente compradas e agregadas, onde um controlo constante se torna normal e a privacidade deixa de ser o cenário padrão. Falk investiga o desejo do ser visto e não ser visto, compartilhar e não compartilhar, conectar e não conectar. Através do seu trabalho, procura entender e expressar a simplicidade de se ser humano perante as pressões que impregnam a cultura pós-moderna ocidental.

Arielle Falk, born 1983 in Washington DC, is a Brooklyn-based artist working in video, performance, and sculpture.

Stemming out of her own search for "authentic self", Arielle Falk explores human subjectivity in relation to self perception and the perception of the other. Falk's work is a reaction to our Facebook-centric, Late Capitalist age, in which we are encouraged to participate in the commodification of our selves, where identities are carefully bought and assembled, where constant surveillance is normalized and privacy is no longer the “default” setting. She investigates a desire to be both seen and not seen, to share and not share, to connect and not connect. Through her work, Falk seeks to understand and express what it is to simply be human amongst the pressures that pervade postmodern Western culture.
